Whitman County 
Emergency Food Assistance

The Emergency Food Assistance Program offers help to those who need access to nutritional food. The food bank may be accessed one time in a month for those needing emergency food supplies. Nutritional counseling, information on food purchases and preparation and household budget assistance are also available.

The Dissmores and Safeway stores in Pullman generously donate day-old bakery items to the food bank. Baked goods are available during CAC office hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 to 4:30). Three items per visit are available to everyone limited to stock on hand.

A Food Sack...What you will receive.
Food sacks are distributed according to household size. A family of 1 or 2 would receive one sack of food, 3 and up would receive two sacks. A choice of four additional items is also given at the time of the visit.

Sack #1 contains:

1 Cereal  1 Peanut Butter
1 Jelly  2 Fruit
3 Tuna or other Protein 4 Vegetables
4 Soups  2 Tomato Products
1 Chili or Bean Product  2 Mac and Cheese
1 Pasta  1 Rice
2 Ramen Choice from Additional Items

Sack #2 contains an increased amount of selected items.
