Donations

DONATIONS

Many of our programs at Community Action Center rely on donations to sustain services to low to moderate-income residents. Often times assistance cannot be given to those in need because funding is short. Programs like the food bank, My Family enrichment program, emergency assistance such as meals, lodging and transportation have to be denied for lack of available funding.

You can help us continue these services by making a tax deductible cash donation to Community Action Center. Donations can be made to a specific program or as a general donation that will be used where the need is greatest.

For more information about our agency or about your donation please contact us. For a printable donation form (click here).

General Donations
At Community Action Center we are grateful for your generosity in donating items to help the families we serve.  We appreciate your willingness to give, however due to our minimal storage space we are unable to accept all items.  We hope this list will be helpful in planning your donation delivery.  We are always happy to help when we can.  Please let us know if you have any question or concerns about our needs.

FOOD
We gladly accept all donations of food and dry goods.  We are always in need of peanut butter, jelly, rice, pasta, canned or frozen meat, tomato products, beans, canned fruit and vegetables, pancake mix and syrup.  We also like to help our families with toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, toothpaste, diapers of all sizes, personnel hygiene products and baby food.

 GARDEN PRODUCE
We gladly accept all donations of fresh fruit and vegetables.  These items are placed in our bread room and available on a first come first serve basis to our families.  We have limited refrigeration so vegetables with a longer shelf life are best.  The food bank is open Monday and Thursday mornings and Wednesday evening so larger donations are distributed quickly on these days.

BLANKETS
We often have families who need extra blankets, baby and household supplies.  We have limited space but can usually distribute these donations quickly.

 CLOTHING
Donations of coats and hats are always welcome, especially in the winter months. Because of our limited storage space we prefer that clothing donations be delivered to the Community Congregational Church 523 NE Campus Ave, Pullman WA 99163.  They have a drop box located on Ruby Street.  Our families receive vouchers for the Thrift Shop to pick up clothing and other items they need.   If you need help delivering clothing donations we can usually assist you.

 LARGE APPLIANCES
Items such as washers, dryers, beds etc are too big to store at CAC.  We do keep a list of donated items and those looking for these appliances and try to match a donation when possible.  It usually takes a few days to make a match but if you have the time to hold on to the item this is a valuable service for those in need.

If you have a question about any donation please call our office 509-334-9147 or 800-482-3991.  With enough notice we can usually find a home for donations of any kind.  CAC staff and clients are grateful for your continuing generosity.  We would not be able to provide the help we do-- without help from you.
