Legal Advice and Referral

Getting LEGAL ASSISTANCE In Whitman County
The Whitman County Legal Services program works to find legal resources for low-income residents
who are in need. If you qualify for help, the Legal Services Coordinator is available to:

Refer

You to available agencies for legal advice and information. For example, your legal question may be answered by Coordinated Legal Education Advice & Referral (CLEAR) advocates, the Northwest Women’s Law Center, the Attorney General’s office or the Tenant’s Union.

Schedule

You to attend a clinic where you can learn about the law and how to represent yourself in divorce, custody, or landlord/tenant issues.

Find

An attorney to meet with you or represent you. Some attorneys in Whitman County volunteer to help people who cannot afford legal services. This assistance may only be available after you get legal advice from CLEAR or attend a clinic or other training.

Provide

Information about Whitman County court forms and rules. If you qualify for help, we will help you find the right forms and understand local court rules.
